Clooney. Keira Knightley. Leo.
They have one thing in common, great tans.
Also, they’ve been in some movies that have stunning beaches. So, for your sun-bathing pleasure, here are 13 breathtaking sandy spots from film to visit this Spring Break.
Sunscreen butler not included.
The Talented Mr. Ripley (1999)
Where’s the Beach: Private Beach Club of Bagno Antonio in Ischia Ponte, Italy
What Scene to Reenact: That one where Dickie (Jude Law) takes a small row boat on the Mediterranean Sea with his new (and trustworthy) friend, Tom (Matt Damon). Be careful with the oar stunts.
Where’s the Beach: Seal Rocks in South Wales, Australia
What Scene to Reenact: Take some sun-bathing notes from Roz (Robin Wright) and nap under the sun like a seasoned thespian. Tip: Avoid eye contact with your best friend’s mom.
The Beach (2000)
Where’s the Beach: Hat Maya, Phi Phi Leh, Thailand
What Scene to Reenact: Any of the scenes that don’t involve you killing your new beach buddies. (Tour guides frown upon fake blood.)
Mamma Mia (2008)
Where’s the Beach: Kastani Beach on the Greek island of Skopelos
What Scene to Reenact: You wearing white linen pants and saying “Mamma Mia” really fast. That’s it.
Forgetting Sarah Marshall (2008)
Where’s the Beach: Turtle Bay Resort in Oahu, Hawaii
What Scene to Reenact: Let’s avoid the scene of you crying in your beach cottage because your ex is dating a rock star.
Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl (2003)
Where’s the Beach: St. Vincent and the Grenadines
What Scene to Reenact: Channel your inner Jack Sparrow (Johnny Depp) by sipping Rum and starting a massive beach bonfire. (Bring your pirate sword for good measure.)
The Other Woman (2014)
Where’s the Beach: Westhampton Beach, Suffolk County, New York
What Scene to Reenact: The one where Cameron Diaz tackles Leslie Mann as Kate Upton skips down the coastline. Warning: it’s cold in the Northeast right now so bring a wetsuit for your model.
From Here to Eternity (1953)
Where’s the Beach: Halona Cove in Oahu, Hawaii
What Scene to Reenact: You know the scene. Just make sure your “co-star” doesn’t mind getting a little sandy.
22 Jump Street (2014)
Where’s the Beach: La Concha Resort in Puerto Rico
What Scene to Reenact: You in an ironically funny tank top sipping exotic libations and practicing your Miranda rights. (And don’t forget your neon sunglasses.)
Ocean’s Twelve (2004)
Where’s the Beach: Villa Erba on Lake Como in Milan, Italy (Okay, technically it’s not a beach but look at this view.)
What Scene to Reenact: We’re talking Clooney here. Lets pass on this one. He is not to be imitated.
The Blue Lagoon (1980)
Where’s the Beach: Devil’s Beach on the island of Nanuya Levu in Fiji.
What Scene to Reenact: Beach cuddling in a loin cloth. (It’ll be great for getting rid of tan lines.)
Cast Away (2000)
Where’s the Beach: Monuriki island in Fiji
What Scene to Reenact: Grow a beard. Build a fire with sticks. And scream at a volleyball. (The local boogie boarders will be impressed.)
