Anyway, we just wanted you to know.
And also, there’s a little bar in Downtown Los Angeles that would like to meet you.
It’s called Redwood Bar & Grill, and it’s the nautically-themed hangout where Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Zooey Deschanel channel The Pixies and Nancy Sinatra, respectively, while singing karaoke in (500) Days of Summer. Naturally, their impressive performances act as a catalyst for their relationship. Everyone likes a good singer.
In reality though, the bar’s more into booking professional bands than letting its patrons caterwaul on stage. But still: good bar. So you should check it out. Go there for cold PBR tallboys and chicken wings. Eat a half-pound burger with a side of onion rings and two sides of whiskey.
But most of all, go there for the bands. Because Redwood is hosting live rock, indie and punk shows almost every night, from local favorites to touring acts.
And if you feel compelled to jump on stage and start singing, well, we’re not going to stop you.
Although security might.
